On Sunday, November 3, 2019, Ghanaian born gospel artist Emmanuel Smith will take the stage at the Icon Outlet at the 02 (famously known as Indigo 02) for “The Journey Continues” an evening of great worship music with a very impressive bill of guest acts. Emmanuel is known especially for his cover of Travis Greene’s – Made a Way at his groundbreaking appearance on The Voice UK. Jennifer Hudson was the first judge to turn her chair during his performance and said that it was her favorite song and Mentor Judge Will.i.am compared him to “an antihistamine that unclogged him”. All four of the judges turned their chairs for Emmanuel and got his praises well and truly sung by every single one of them. Having made waves in the UK gospel scene for the past 8 years coupled with his countless UK & international performances, Emmanuel has proven to be a powerful vocalist, using both his strong voice and pure spirit to always establish an atmosphere of worship.
The Lewisham bred artist believes there is no better time to promote the gospel of Christ than now, and uses every given opportunity to proclaim the name of Christ. For the most part of 2019 he has toured the world, performing in Germany, Italy, UK, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Amsterdam and The USA with over 60 dates till date. Emmanuel has been privileged to grace the stage with other minstrels of the gospel, such as Stellar award winning Jason Nelson, US renowned worship leader Todd Galberth, Uche Agu, Muyiwa Olarewaju and many more. He also performed on the coveted Main stage at Big Church Day Out with 25,000 people in attendance and to an audience of over 20,000 at the Festival of Life UK held at Excel.
“The Journey Continues” live at the indigo 02 brings together a mixed crowd of Christians and unbelievers. Emmanuel is passionate about engaging culture and bridging the mainstream-gospel divide without compromising the message of Christ.
“My ministry is not limited to the four walls of the church, and I have always wanted to reach out to the unchurched as well. A community centre will not suffice, the 02 is very symbolic. I want us Christians to dream bigger and make our mark in our nation and bring Jesus to an acclaimed venue like the 02 where so many artists have performed and ultimately God will be lifted up. My mandate is the great commission so I have to go out into the world with the gospel of Jesus & that’s actually every Christians assignment” – says Smith.
Emmanuel credits his mother for instilling the love of God in him at a tender age and ensuring he remains grounded. His greatest desire is to inspire lives and to give people hope and love and with every given opportunity, proclaim his faith.
The 2018 & 2019 AGMA Award winner promises a night where people will experience God in a way that no one has seen before, the excellence of musicality and a sound from heaven to
inspire and help people get closer to God. New exclusive music and a massive production. Not giving away too much, there will be a few surprises on the night including his guest acts, Multi Award winner Joe Mettle (Ghana), Campus Rush (Canada), MOBO Award winners, New Ye (UK), Niiella (UK), London based girl band, Shekinah (UK), Lydia Kabs (UK) and Karl Lokko (UK). Emmanuel believes in the spirit of unity and there was no way this concert was going ahead without him bringing his friends along.
