R&B gospel singer and songwriter Uchenna releases the new single ‘Nearer’ available now on all music streaming platforms. Following a year of continuous awe-inspiring music, and a highly anticipated collaboration with Jessica Akin on ‘Without You’, Uchenna pens a beautiful heart-felt and soulful song. The song seeks to emphasize that no matter what we go through, there’s a place we can always draw strength from. Vocal powerhouse wows with smooth vocals and melodious harmonies, infused with R&B elements and wrapped with thought-provoking lyrics.
As shown in previous tracks from the singer-songwriter, the intention of every song release is to bring more hope, restoration of hearts and light, to every listener. ‘Nearer’ exceeds this and more. The song is built on the prominent scripture John 4:4-26 which talks about the living water – Jesus.
According to Uchenna, ‘This song is so special to me – I’ve been in tough situations this year but knowing that every time I call on the name of God, he is already there, is comforting. Even on the difficult days, I decided to spend time in his presence and it’s a decision I don’t regret. Each second in his presence quenches every thirst I have – I want my listeners to have this same encounter’.
‘Nearer’, produced by Future Music Services, mixed by Whiteblock Group, and artistically illustrated by graphic artist Naomi Hodge is out now under UK Gospel music label, Imprint music. According to sources, ‘Nearer’ is the second lead single from Uchenna, before the big EP reveal later this year – very exciting.
