Two major things are happening this month, which forces us to look at matters that are often deferred. Still, I Rise Mental Health Services has teamed up with the multi-award-winning IDMC Gospel Choir and Touch of Grace Choir in Grenada, to remake a Mahalia Jackson Gospel Classic,’ IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY.’ Which Premiers on World Mental Health Day, on the 10-10-2020.
This Campaign is aimed towards shedding a light and bringing awareness to the Stigma in the ethnic and Christian communities worldwide, about opening up and addressing Mental Health issues. We hope this will allow conversations and actions to begin, for forward movement to heal, and offer better opportunities to improve the wellbeing of our communities at large.
It is no coincidence that World Mental Health Day falls within the same month the world acknowledges Black History. A people while offering so many great contributions to society, have suffered for hundreds of years physically, mentally, socially and economically. So we take this opportunity to present to you this offering through song and thank you for helping us spread the word across the globe.
