Ultimately, this song is about God being that guiding light in our lives – while acknowledging the darkness in it, yet knowing that that too shall pass. “The sorrow may last for the night, but Eclipse pass, come like a new day”
Some context:
“Sun came out on my birthday…” – 10 May 1994, I was born on a Solar Eclipse… Some months preceding my birth, my (earthly) Dad had a dream:
He was stood in a field on a cloudy day.
Then he raised me up in his hands (like Simba) and the sun came up from the horizon immediately – the clouds disappeared.
In the dream, he could hear himself thanking God very loudly.
